Shika Nettey wins Design Competition

Shika Nettey, from MA Graphic Arts, has won the Frenchay Library Design Competition. Shika’s work, a 12 metre illustration has been installed in the newly re-developed fourth floor of the library. She says, ‘I was particularly inspired and fed by the artistic, fun and relaxing nature of Bristol’s visual landscape – diverse culture, colourful graffiti and the arts.’ The competition run by the UWE Estates development team, asked students to respond to the theme of ‘Community – Communities of Practice, Communities of Learning and Collaboration’. Shika was presented with her prize by UWE Bristol’s Vice Chancellor, Steve Weston on Tuesday night (4/10/16) at the formal opening of the space.
